Save money! Dont pay any more late fees! Return your library items on time. booksdueNYC is an application that allows users of the New York Public Library system to view their outstanding items (books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks) and automatically adds alerts to their iPhone Calendar to remind them to return the items when theyre due. This applies only to physical media, items checked out from the eNYPL system are not supported, as has been pointed out by a user.
Using booksdueNYC is easy: simply log in with your barcode (from the back of your card, as you would on the nypl.org website) and enter your 4 digit pin.
After you log in, the application will show you a list of all your outstanding items with their due dates. In addition, booksdueNYC will automatically add reminder events (“Go to the Library booksdueNYC”) to your Calendar on the days that your items are due.
booksdueNYC supports multiple users. Just enter your barcode and pin once, login, and the application will remember this information for subsequent logins. Press the Next User button in order to cycle through all of the saved users. The login screen displays the name of the cardholder at the bottom along with the date and time when the status of outstanding items was last retrieved.
You are able to select when you want to be reminded that your items are due. You can set a specific time for your calendar alerts and choose to be reminded either the day of or the day before your items are due.
